Current Projects

I'm working on a lot of different things right now and am going to try to do a better job of keeping this updated. I found some yarn that matches the bean pot set that my mom has and I'm making her some dish rags/pot holders/hot pads (whatever you want to call them) out of it. I am using the waffle weave stitch. I bought a book a few years ago that taught you how to do this stitch because I couldn't find a pattern anywhere at the time. I'm still not sure if you can find them. The stitch itself doesn't show up really well with this yarn, it does better with really thin baby yarn. It does however seem to be making for a really nice, thick pot holder. We shall see, I will post pictures when I'm done. I bought some sock yarn because I had found a crochet pattern that seemed decent and I guess I will try that next. I am also in the process of teaching myself how to knit. I actually have the knit and purl stitch down and made a small basketweave square (I will post that picture later too with more details). So I have been busy just haven't posted on here much. Hoping to do better with it.

Mom's Mother's Day Afghan

My mom doesn't normally like afghans. She doesn't like the feel of the yarn that people generally use. So for Mother's Day I bought Homespun Yarn and made her an afghan that she would like the feel of. I'm not crazy about crocheting with this yarn because it can be quite unpredictable but this time I didn't have any problems. The end result was a blanket that I'm pretty sure my Mom loved.

Project: Gingham Baby Blanket

I took pictures of all the steps but they somehow got lost in my recent computer problems. I loved making this but it reminded me of why I don't like doing individual squares.
