Project: Baby Gingham Quilt
Step 2: Choose the Yarn

I have picked out the yarn for the Baby Gingham Quilt and I am ready to start on it. The pattern is already printed out and I hope to get started sometime today. I chose 2 shade of yellow and a white because as I said before I don't know yet if the baby is going to be a boy or a girl. I will keep you posted on my progress.

Project:Gingham Baby Quilt

I have picked out my next project which will be my first project I follow on here. I am going to do the Gingham Baby Quilt from Happy Yellow House. I love so many of her patterns and ecspecially the fact that she shares them. I'm going to try to pick up the yarn for it this weekend and get started next week. I'm not really crazy about doing projects where the squares have to be sewn together but I love this pattern and have just the baby in mind. I don't know if it is a boy or a girl yet so I'm thinking of doing a yellow or maybe some type of aqua color. I will check back when I have everything picked out and am ready to start.

What and Why.

I'm not really a crafty person. I've tried the sewing thing and although I have managed to make some small, cutesy projects it is just not really for me. Give me some yarn and a crochet hook and you have a whole different story. I love it. It comes natural to me. I taught myself how to crochet a few years ago using the internet and books from the library. I don't have a lot of time to crochet and sometimes I go quite awhile without being able to at all but I always go back to it. It calms me, it soothes me and it gives me a sense of accomplishment. I plan on learning how to knit too and I may throw in a few other "crafty" things here and there but in my heart nothing can beat hooking. I like to learn new types of crochet and new stitches. Most of all I love it when someone uses something that I have made. So I am going to share my ideas, creations and information.
